![]() ![]() Aethelbald in this book was a Christ like character, he wasn’t Christ but just an allegory of Him. We all seek after the “lovers” we think we love when really Aethelbald a.k.a Jesus Christ is there offering us uncontrollable love. Many readers have seen Aeneas as a positive figure and one who would please Romeʼs leaders. Finally, the Trojans land in Italy and found a city where Rome will later stand. ![]() Along the way, the gods-especially Juno and Aeneasʼs mother, Venus-throw both obstacles and aids in his path. Not until the maiden voyage of his new sidewheeler Fevre Dream would Marsh realize he had joined a mission both more sinister, and perhaps more noble, than his most fantastic nightmare.and mankind’s most impossible dream. But the promise of both gold and a grand new boat that could make history crushed his resolve - coupled with the terrible force of York’s mesmerizing gaze. It was too full of secrets that spelled danger. And they are to be none of Marsh’s concern - no matter how bizarre, arbitrary, or capricious his actions may prove. York has his own reasons for wanting to traverse the powerful Mississippi. Nor does he care that he won’t earn back his investment in a decade. ![]() For York doesn’t care that the icy winter of 1857 has wiped out all but one of Marsh’s dilapidated fleet. To clarify, while this term has somehow come to mean mainly photo-strips elsewhere, like Britain’s old Jackie and My Guy girls’ romances parodied in Viz, in Italy it covers comics of all types.Īfter spending last weekend (7 to 9 March, 2008) enjoying the BilBOlbul Festival Internazionale di Fumetto in Bologna, this week I thought I’d share some of my discoveries and experiences there.
